    PRESQUE ISLE – Marie E. Theriault Carrier, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2008, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill while surrounded by family.  She was born March 8, 1931, in Presque Isle, the tenth of twelve children to the late William and Sadie (LaBelle) Theriault also of Presque Isle. 
    She graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart Bernard Carrier in 1952. Marie relished the opportunity to stay at home while her children were young.  She later enjoyed working outside the home at Epstien’s Clothing designing window and store displays. Marie was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and the Spragueville Extension. 
    She is survived by four children: Michael Carrier, Debbie Higgins and her husband Mark of Windham, Judy Martin and her husband David of Boonsboro, Maryland, Tracy Carrier of South Portland; three siblings: Evelyn Manter of Fort Fairfield, Mabel McNeil of Belfast, Dale Theriault of Auburn; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased last year by her husband of fifty-five years Bernard Carrier, as well as several brothers and sisters.
    At the deceased request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Aaron Damboise celebrant.  Interment took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery on Chapman St. in Presque Isle.  Following the committal there was a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Maine Alzheimers Association (170 US Route 1, Suite 250 Falmouth, ME 04105).  Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, ME 04769. Condolences may be expressed online at www.duncan-graves.com.
