Happy Holidays to you and your pet

Happy Holidays everyone! With Election time come and gone, now is the time to think of the loved ones and special individuals during this holiday season. This includes your pets. For some of us, they are part of our family and have Christmas stockings ready to be filled. Why not include their dog license for 2009? They are now available for anyone to purchase.     All dogs six (6) months old and older need to be licensed by January 31st of each year. The fee for dogs that have not been altered is $11 and the fee for dogs that have been spayed or neutered dogs is $6. Proof of rabies is needed before a license can be issued. For new licenses, proof of neutered or spayed certificate must be provided. There is a $15 late fee, per dog, for any owner that applies after January 31st and a $25 fine, per dog, for any owner that applies after the warrant is signed by the City Council (usually the meeting in March – first Monday of the month).
Now that we took care of the pooches, how about purchasing a fishing, hunting, or fishing/hunting combination for the “difficult-to-buy-for” person or sportsman or sportswoman in your life. The 2009 licenses are now available for purchase. Even if that person lives elsewhere within the state of Maine, and have purchased a license in the past, you have the ability to purchase their license here.
Lastly, if you would like to make a difference, consider contributing to the oil program, you will be gift giving to someone in need, keeping them warm during the cold winter season.
I wish you all good health and happiness during the holiday season and in the coming new year.
