The National Honor Society at Caribou High School recently announced the election of Madame Wanda Marie Theriault, as a full member and honorary adviser of the Caribou Chapter.
Kenneth W. Atcheson, advisor to the Caribou High School NHS, stands with new member, Madame Wanda Theriault, chair of the foreign language department at the school. Theriault was inducted to the society at a surprise ceremony earlier this month.
Madame Theriault is a graduate of Caribou High School Class of 1969, a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor’s, master’s, Advanced Placement Certification and completed 30 hours of advanced study in French and Spanish.
Theriault has been an instructor in modern and classical languages for the past 34 years. She has been an instructor and division chair at Caribou High School since 2002 and at Windham High School from 1985 to 2002, with previous service at other schools also within the state.
During the surprise induction ceremony, an emotional Madame Theriault said, “I am so honored to become a member of the National Honor Society this way, I just want to say thank you to this wonderful group of students and to Mr. Atcheson, it is such a pleasure.”
