CARIBOU — Robert Albert Cyr, 65, died December 14, 2011, at a Caribou nursing facility. He was born at Caribou August 4, 1946, the son of the late Albert and Viola (Nadeau) Cyr and was married to Dorothy (Levesque) Cyr for 41 wonderful years. He graduated from Caribou High School and University of Maine at Presque Isle. Robert was employed as a recruiter in the Maine National Guard for 17 years throughout the state of Maine. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Caribou Lions Club, Brunswick Knights of Columbus, Jaycees and the American Legion Henry B. Pratt Post No. 15. Robert was also a member of the Parish of Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Caribou are two sons, Travis Cyr of Caribou and Keith and his wife, Pinar Cyr and a granddaughter, Alara Cyr of Atlanta, GA.; four brothers and sisters, Diane and her husband Darrell of Woodland, Mike and his wife, Juanita Cyr of Caribou, Greg and his wife, Sandra Cyr of Brewer and Brian and his wife, Sandra Cyr of Salem, NH; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 7-9 pm Friday, December 16, 2011. Funeral services were held on Saturday, 10 am at the Parish of Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Robert’s nephew, Fr. Jim Nadeau officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial.
