Post 187 news
The Pattee-Page Post 187 of Easton held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at the Easton Odd Fellows Hall. The election of officers for 2009-2010 was held on and they were: Commander, James Ireland; Vice Commander, Roland Michaud; Adjutant, Robert Clark; Finance Officer, Hayward Ames; Americanisim, Clair Carter; and Chaplain, Bernard Hussey. Also present were members Jeff Larsen and Rick Brown. The Post voted to help the Legion Auxiliary with finances, to send a girl to Dirigo Girls’ State this year, as there were no boys wanting to attend Boys’ State. The girl who will be attending this year is Lisa Dayringer. The men also decided, after some discussion, that there would be no Bean-Hole Bean Supper this year at Field Days, which will be a disappointment for many people, but help is getting harder to find each year, especially for biscuit making.
Senior Class Banquet
The Easton United Methodist Church will be holding the Senior Class banquet this year on May 27, beginning at 6 p.m. in the church dining area. Each student is invited to bring one guest, and the invitation also goes out to the high school teachers and principal.
Church sells parsonage
The Easton United Methodist Church has recently sold their Church parsonage to the David Day family of Easton. Their minister, Dan Blevins, purchased a home for his family on the Mars Hill Road and the cost of upkeep on the parsonage, even though empty, was more than the church members felt they could handle.
Visits
Glenice Craig and her daughter, Peggy Mitchell, drove to Falmouth to spend some time with her son, Larry Nichols, his wife, Melanie, and their daughter, Mackinzie. Glenice was invited to celebrate Grandparents Day with Mackinzie at her school on Friday.
