Members of the health center board and Washburn officials welcomed the family of the late David Jones, MD, and area health care leaders to the clinic.
The Aroostook Agency on Aging launched Access Points, a project to establish centers where folks can participate in educational classes, social gatherings, activities and other services.
The act implements recommendations the commission presented to the committee in January. Additionally, it reestablishes the commission, whose work ended in January.
The lack of help in Aroostook County can lead to tragic outcomes, as it did for Jacob Poitraw and Jacob Wood. Both were experiencing mental health episodes when they were shot and killed by police.
