Art of persuasion

To the editor: I write to the Valley’s young men and women, who I hope will not quietly inherit the privilege to lead their wonderful, caring community.   I commend to your attention a letter from Walter Crean published June 14.  Please read it, respectfully.  Walter speaks here often, freely and rightly.  Like so much of […]

Connecting the unserved is crucial

To the editor: Telehealth has emerged as a crucial resource for millions of Americans since the onset of the pandemic. As a rural physician I use the internet daily to provide services. I have seen firsthand the positive ways in which telehealth services can complement in-person visits and benefit health outcomes. I have also experienced the […]

To the editor: I’ve felt the need to write about the current abortion legislation. So far all I’ve read are reasons to be against it or reasons as to why it’s wrong for Maine. But I have seen nothing defending not only this bill, but the women that it is meant for.

This issue needs our opposition

To the editor: “May 1st saw a historic day of turnout in the Maine Legislature for the public hearing of LD1619, “An Act to Improve Maine’s Reproductive Privacy Laws.”

A master of spin

To the editor: I think Joe Biden is the worst president our country has seen in modern times. I also believe in being fair. With that in mind, I set out on a quest to see if I could find something positive amid his many failures. It took less time than I thought to come […]
