Fort Kent girls break away from Mattanawcook in final minutes for C North prelim win

FORT KENT, Maine — The No. 6 Fort Kent girls are headed to Bangor following a 51-42 home court preliminary victory over No. 11 Mattanawcook Academy Tuesday evening.
The Warriors (10-7 overall) advance to the Class C North quarterfinals at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor where they will take on No. 3 Penobscot Valley (15-3).
The two squads did not meet during the regular season.
