Ark Animal Sanctuary

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of March 6, 2024

Lately we have been doing a lot of vet runs with multiple cats. The ark is not a typical shelter. We are a sanctuary. We are home to approximately 50 or more feral cats, many of which could never be released back due to health issues.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of December 20, 2023

For weeks we have seen this cat on our cameras out in the bitter cold. For weeks we have left food out for her. She would come twice a day most every day. She would appear on the cameras at 3 in the morning and then at different times during the day and always disappear into the trailer park across the road. It was clear that she was not being taken care of or fed.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of March 15, 2023

Shamu was brought into the Ark a few weeks ago in critical condition. A lady in town had been feeding him. He was in deplorable shape. His tail was so matted he couldn’t even lift it. He was not neutered and his mouth — well, there are no words.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of February 22, 2023

I want to talk to you about a cat named Julian. Julian came to us a little over a year ago, emaciated and covered in wounds. He was not neutered. Julian was out on his own in the bitter cold. He had a very nice couple who were watching out for him. They trapped him and brought him to the sanctuary.

Helping cats across The County

A few weeks ago we were contacted by Paws Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Fort Kent asking if we could help them with two cats. One was leukemia positive and the other has feline AIDS. We agreed to take both so they wouldn’t have to live out their days in a cage.
