The James School on the Spragueville Road in Presque Isle was filled to capacity Tuesday, July 4, as all ages turned out for an old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration.

James School hosts July 4 festivities

The James School, located at 125 Niles Road in Presque Isle, will host a reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon by Kim Smith from the Presque Isle Historical Society. Molly the Trolley will be at the Riverside Pavilion at 11:30 for rides to the school at no cost.

Maysville Museum opens Saturday

The Presque Isle Historical Society will open a new local history museum Saturday in the renovated former Maysville Grange, a small, old building with a lot of stories to tell.

Society hails educator as director of the year
