County baseball players to compete in showcase games

Several baseball players from the region will have their seasons extended after the Maine Baseball Coaches Association invited them to play in postseason all-star games later this week.

Thirteen County players will compete in the Class C-D North vs. South Senior Game to be played at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at Colby College in Waterville.

Alex Kaiser of Ashland, Caleb Harris of Central Aroostook, Thomas Gilman and Trevor Noyes, both of East Grand; Malcolm Langner and Jared Harvey, both of Fort Fairfield; Jacob Daigle of Fort Kent, Matt Horton of Hodgdon, Cooper Drew of Katahdin and Pat Howe, Nick Perfitt, Morgan Phillips and Colby Callnan, all of Houlton, will suit up for the 26-member North squad.

Two County players earned the opportunity to play in the Underclass Showcase Game, set for Wednesday, June 20, at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. Fifty six underclassmen were invited to compete in the 10-inning game, which begins at noon

Junior Jonah Hudson of Presque Isle and sophomore Eden Paradis are playing on the American Team.
