Happy Days Club plans outing

The Happy Days Club met July 26 for a potluck luncheon.  

The guest speaker was Joy Barresi Saucier from the Aroostook Agency on Aging with very interesting topics for seniors.  The agency is inviting the seniors of Easton to join them on Thursday, Aug. 9, for a meal at the Mai Tai in Presque Isle.  

If you wish to attend and are in need of a ride please call (207) 227-0406 or (207) 488-4971.  The carpool caravan will depart from the West Ridge Manor at 11 a.m. There will be a stipend for Easton seniors.  Please RSVP to one of the numbers above.

Rec field trips

On Wednesday, Aug. 8, the bus will depart at  9 a.m. for Birch Point Campground. The cost is $5; please send exact change. The bus will return at 3:30.   Children should have their Rec Department T-shirt, swimsuit, towel, water shoes and their own labeled sunscreen.  

Children will cook lunch and s’mores over the fire.  Concessions will be available. Flotation devices and sand/water toys are encouraged.  This is open to grades 1 and up. Children must be able to swim, or non-swimmers are welcome with an adult.  

Monday, Aug. 13, will be the annual trip to Water Wizard Water Slides/Yogi Bear Park departing at 9:15 a.m.  and returning at 3 p.m. The cost is $15 American money for all activities (waterslides, fun zone and mini golf).  Please send exact change.

Children should have their Rec Department T-shirt, swimsuit, towel, water shoes and their own labeled sunscreen.  

A bag lunch or lunch money is required.  Concessions and souvenirs will be available.  Open to grades 1 and up. Children must be able to swim, or non-swimmers are welcome with an adult.  

 This event is in Canada, so participants must have a release form and birth certificate on file with the Rec. Department prior to the trip.

Community Calendars

There are still several Easton Community Celebration Calendars that have not yet been retrieved.  Please pick up your copy (copies) as soon as possible. There are extras available.

Library Change

The community library at Easton High School will no longer be open for regular hours on Saturday mornings.  In the future, library services will still be available on an “as requested” basis to arrange a mutually convenient time please contact Steve Demaio at 207-805-2702.
