CARIBOU, Maine — New candidate Doug Morrell and incumbent Joan Theriault were elected to Caribou City Council on Nov. 5, with the two receiving 501 and 504 votes, respectively.

The two ran against three others for a three-year term: new candidates Milo Haney and Roger Felix, and incumbent David Martin. Haney received 491 votes, Felix received 460 votes and Martin received 472 votes.

Morrell will officially begin his term in early January, when new councilors are sworn in by the city clerk and a mayor is selected. Until then, Martin will continue to serve as a city councilor.
