Thanks for caring

To the editor:
This letter is to publicly recognize those who went out of their way recently to welcome home our Hometown Heroes, men from local communities who are members of the Maine Army National Guard who spent the past year in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
A special “thank you” to Tim Horton’s who gave each soldier, who resides in the Presque Isle area and all points north, a coupon redeemable for a free family dinner. A special “thank you” also to the Lister Knowlton VFW Post 9389 from Caribou for their Welcome Home Reception and meal held in honor of our soldiers and their families at the Post home on the evening of March 15. To all present that evening, “thank you.”
Finally a special thank you to each and all people and businesses who put up flags, banners, signs and posters displaying proudly your support of our soldiers. You are all commended and applauded for your support and patriotism. Thanks for being there. Thanks for caring.
