Gauvin Family Scholarship available to PIHS seniors

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – It’s getting close to graduation time, and once again the Gauvin Family Scholarship is available to seniors in Presque Isle. Created by Ray and Sandy Gauvin, long-time residents of the area, this scholarship was begun in 2001 to help committed, hard-working students with average grades continue on to post-graduate education that will enable them to become successful, responsible, productive members of their communities.
Based on individual circumstances, these scholarships are granted to students who show responsibility and good work ethic. In addition, these students must demonstrate outstanding citizenship, good moral character, and high aspirations for future success.
The Gauvin Family Scholarship is limited to seniors of Presque Isle High School who are residents of the Presque Isle-Mapleton area. They must be planning to attend local institutions such as the University of Maine at Presque Isle or Northern Maine Community College. Exceptions are made for those students pursuing a course of study not offered by one of these institutions. Recipients are selected by a committee of highly-respected members of the local education and business communities.
Applications can be found on the SAD 1 Web site or can be picked up in the Guidance Office at Presque Isle High School.
