Central Aroostook Junior-Senior High School of Mars Hill has announced the honor parts for the class of 2007. The valedictorian is Jeremy Boulier and the salutatorian is Kaelin Rideout. The first honor essayist is Katelyn Field and the second honor essayist is Nicole McQuade.
Jeremy Boulier is the son of Bruce and Elaine Boulier, of Blaine. He has participated in Tech, Chorus, Trust Team, Student Council, French Club, National Honor Society and the volleyball team. Boulier has been recognized for his efforts in earning the English award during grades 9, 10 and 11; the history award grades 9, 10 and 11; the chemistry award in grade 10, as well as the French II award and the Discovery Quest. He has also been recognized recently as a six-year honoree, which means he has achieved the honor roll at Central Aroostook for 23 consecutive quarters. Boulier has volunteered at the Mars Hill Recreation Department, the mentoring program, Special Olympics and has been a teacher’s aide. He plans to attend the University of Maine and major in news media.
Kaelin Rideout is the son of Scott and Linda Rideout, of Howland, and Jonna and Kyle Flint, of Mars Hill. He has participated in Student Council, French Club, National Honor Society, band, chorus, volleyball, Upward Bound, Trust Team and has been a class officer. He has held several offices, including Student Council president, French Club president and National Honor Society president. Rideout has been recognized for his efforts earning a perfect attendance award in grades 9, 10 and 11. He has received the French I and French III awards, and honor roll awards at the academic recognition night. He has volunteered at the Aroostook State Park, the National Honor Society Convention, American Red Cross blood drive and the Great American Smoke-out. Rideout plans to attend the University of New England and major in marine science.
Katelyn Field is the daughter of Alan and Kim Field, of Blaine. She has participated in band, chorus, cheerleading, French Club, National Honor Society and Varsity Club. She has held several offices including National Honor Society secretary and treasurer, class officer and French Club officer. Field has been recognized for her achievements having received Student of the Month awards, coach’s award in cheerleading and her four-year varsity letter. She was also recognized as a six-year honoree, which means she has achieved the honor roll at Central Aroostook for 23 consecutive quarters. Field has volunteered at the Aroostook Team Leadership camp throughout her high school years. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle to study social work.
Nicole McQuade is the daughter of Ross and Anne McQuade, of Mars Hill. She has participated in many activities at Central Aroostook including Varsity Ski Team, Varsity Club, Trust Team, French Club, band, chorus, National Honor Society, math team and yearbook. She has also held the offices of class treasurer and class president. McQuade has been recognized for her efforts through a varsity letter and the coach’s award in skiing, the Student of the Month and many academic awards. She was also recognized as a six-year honoree, which means she has achieved the honor roll at Central Aroostook for 23 consecutive quarters. She has volunteered at the Mars Hill Recreation Department and the junior high lockdown. McQuade plans to attend the University of Maine and major in psychology.
The class of 2007 will graduate on June 8, with exercises being held in the Central Aroostook Jr.-Sr. High School gymnasium at 7 p.m.
