The Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Association held its second tournament of the summer at the Covered Bridge Golf Club in Hartland, New Brunswick June 27.
Out of 128 golfers, David “Abe” MacFarlane of Edmundston and Barry Richardson of the Aroostook Valley Country Club took top honors. MacFarlane was the overall gross scorer with a 73, while Richardson took overall net with a score of 69.
Division I gross winners were MacFarlane, 73; Cliff Chasse, Edmundston, 73 and Gary Greene, Covered Bridge, 74. Net, Richardson, 69; Charles Violette, Presque Isle, 70 and Keith Larlee, Edmundston, 70.
Division II gross winners included Peter Curley, Covered Bridge, 76; Harry Orser, Mars Hill, 78 and Greg Douglas, VaJoWa, 80. Net, Harold Clark, Presque Isle, 67; Judd Giberson, Covered Bridge, 68 and Bob Osterbloom, Aroostook Valley, 69.
Division III gross winners were David Scullion, Portage, 80; Andrew Choisnet, Edmundston, 82 and Bill Casavant, Presque Isle, 87. Net, Willard Cyr, Edmundston, 65; Duncan MacKensie, Limestone, 70 and Richard Maynard, Presque Isle, 70.
Division IV gross winners include Don Trafford, Covered Bridge, 84; Doug Lawrence, Covered Bridge, 86 and Jim Duncan, Covered Bridge, 91. Net, Tom Saucier, Mars Hill, 65; Clem Thorne, VaJoWa, 70 and Mike Bernard, Presque Isle, 72.
Gross winners in Division V were Bill Staples, Covered Bridge, 89; Terry Duffy, VaJoWa, 93 and Mike Samon, Presque Isle, 94. Net, Herb Williamson, Presque Isle, 69; Bert Daniels, Houlton, 70 and Eldridge Judkins, Presque Isle, 72.
Division VI gross winners were Ron Daigle, Fort Kent, 94; David King, Limestone, 98 and Steve Haywood, Covered Bridge, 98. Net, Martin Parente, Aroostook Valley, 69; Keith Clark, Long Lake, 71 and Paul Johnson, Fort Kent, 73.
