McKenney graduates
BEVERLY, MASS.. – The 67th commencement exercises of Endicott College were held on Saturday, May 19, with Congressman John Tierney as the distinguished commencement speaker and recipient of an honorary doctor of humane letters.
 Over 535 degrees were conferred to students at the master, bachelor and associate degree levels. Taylor McKenney, a local student,  received her degree.
McKenney is the daughter of Martha McKenney of Salem, Mass. Taylor majored in fine arts and received a bachelor of fine arts degree. She attended Presque Isle High School.
McKenney makes dean’s list
BEVERLY, MASS.. – Endicott College is pleased to announce the dean’s list students for the spring semester 2007. In order to qualify for the dean’s list, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no grade below a “C” and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.
The following student has met those requirements: Taylor McKenney is the daughter of Martha McKenney of Salem, Mass. Taylor is a Senior majoring in fine arts. She attended Presque Isle High School. UMaine students make dean’s list
Orono releases dean’s list
ORONO – A total of 2,709 students earned dean’s list honors from the University of Maine’s eight colleges during the spring 2007 semester. Of the students who made the dean’s list, 2,324 are from Maine, 351 are from out of state and 34 are from foreign countries.

Jones graduates
LEWISTON — Christina D. Jones, of Presque Isle, was among 464 graduates to receive a bachelor’s degree May 27 from Bates College during the college’s 141st commencement exercises.
Jones graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. A junior advisor in 2005-06, she participated in the 2007 Mount David Summit, the college’s annual celebration of academic achievement. Jones received the Richey Community Engagement Fellowship in 2006.
A 2003 graduate of Presque Isle High School, she is the daughter of David Jones of Presque Isle and Sabine Jones of Castle Hill.
McKenna, Michaud graduate
CASTINE – Two local students were among those receiving degrees at Maine Maritime Academy’s  64th commencement exercises held on May 5.
Nicole McKenna, of Presque Isle, received a bachelor of science degree in marine biology from MMA. McKenna is a graduate of Presque Isle High School.
Ryan Joseph Michaud, of Mapleton, received a bachelor of science degree in power engineering technology from MMA. Michaud is a graduate of Presque Isle High School.
Thomas named to dean’s list
NEWTON, MASS. — Laura Thomas, of Westfield, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lasell College. Thomas, the daughter of Lee and Marianne Thomas, is a communications major with emphasis in journalism.
She is a 2004 graduate of Presque Isle High School. Thomas has just completed her junior year at Lasell.
For inclusion on the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours. This is the sixth consecutive semester that Thomas has been named to the dean’s list at Lasell College. In recognition of that outstanding academic performance, Thomas was named to the National Dean’s List in October 2006.
Thomas is currently employed at the Presque Isle Sewer District as lab technician and is also completing a summer internship at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle before returning this fall to Lasell College for her senior year.
Bishop graduates
RINDGE, N.H.  – Marigan Bishop, of Presque Isle, graduated from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, N.H., with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
Berube makes dean’s list
WATERVILLE — Ashley Berube, of Presque Isle, was named to the dean’s list in the undergraduate, day division for the spring 2007 semester at Thomas College.
Holton named to dean’s list
BURLINGTON, VT. – Stephanie Holton of Presque Isle has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2007 semester at the University of Vermont. Holton’s major is Medical Laboratory Sciences.
To be named to the Dean’s List, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
Davis, Bouchard graduate
BRUNSWICK – Bowdoin College held its 202nd commencement exercises Saturday, May 26. The College awarded 448 bachelor of arts degrees to students from 37 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and 16 foreign countries.
Among those graduating from Bowdoin College were Eric James Davis of Bridgewater and Brandon Joseph Bouchard of Caribou.
Davis was awarded a bachelor of arts degree. He graduated cum laude with a major in Asian Studies. His minor was in Government and Legal Studies. Davis received High Honors in Asian Studies for a project titled “Realism, Liberalism, and Pan-Asianism: The Evolution of the Japanese Empire (1905-1945).” He was also named to the Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholars Dean’s List for distinguished scholarship. In his sophomore year, he received a Freeman Fellowship for Student Research in Asia. Davis is a graduate of Central Aroostook High School in Mars Hill.
Bouchard was awarded a bachelor of arts degree. He graduated with a major in Government and Legal Studies. His minor was in History.
In addition, Bouchard received the Lydia Bell Award for Initiative and Leadership in Public Service, presented annually to a senior who “exhibits the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment necessary to initiate and lead opportunities for others to effect change.” He was also named Student Employee of the Year. In his first year, Bouchard received a Freeman Fellowship for Student Research in Asia. He is a graduate of Caribou High School.
