Action heating up at race track

Spud Speedway held a slate of races Sunday, and the results are as follows:
In the Young Guns event, Curtis Picard of St. Agatha was the winner, followed by Jason Levesque of Caribou and Cody Alexander of Fort Fairfield.

    Bob Anderson of Caribou took the checkered flag in the Northern Lights class. Wayne Fox, Jr. of Caribou was the runner-up, while Jason Forbes of Castle Hill finished third.
In Street Stock, Jeff Willette of Presque Isle took the top spot, with Milo Haney of Connor and Frank Simon of Woodland rounding out the top three.
The Powder Puff division went to Natasha Pinette. Leah McQuin was second and Chelsea Nicholson third.
The Quirk Mini-Cup cars made a special appearance, with Fred Ireland of Howland winning the race, Josh Ireland of Howland grabbing the second spot and Ed Trask of Augusta placing third.
On Aug. 12, more racing took place. Keith Thibeau won the Young Guns competition, with Picard and Levesque following.
Brock Kilcollins, in his John Deere green Subaru, was the Northern Lights champion. Anderson was the runner-up and Mark York of Castle Hill ended up third.
Mark York of Fort Fairfield won by inches over Willette in Street Stock, with Simon taking third place.
McQuin was the Powder Puff winner, beating out Pinette. Darci Stigney was in third.
Races are slated again this weekend at the Caribou track.
