UMPI teams busy this weekend

University of Maine at Presque Isle fall sports are in full swing again this weekend, and the teams are looking forward to exciting matchups with key rivals.     The UMPI men’s and women’s soccer teams will host NCAA Independent Conference rival Mitchell, on Saturday. The Lady Owls will kick off at noon, followed by the men at 2 p.m.
Both soccer teams will then travel downstate to St. Joseph’s College and challenge the Monks on their home turf.
Also on Saturday, the Owl men’s and women’s cross country teams will host its annual invitational meet. The women’s race is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., followed by the men’s race at 11:45 a.m.

The UMPI women’s volleyball team will host a tri-match on Sunday in Weiden Gymnasium beginning at noon. The other teams involved are UM-Fort  Kent and Unity College.
Finally, the Owl golf team will be on the road, competing in the Maine Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Thomas College and taking place at Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro.
