LITTLETON — Littleton Baptist Church will host Ed Sealy, a New Brunswick Gospel Music Hall of Fame award winner, in concert Sunday, Nov. 4 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Singer, songwriter and evangelist, Sealy has recorded six CDs. His latest, “Thy Kingdom Come,” was written entirely by him and recorded through Outreach Productions in Fredericton, N.B. At the 2004 New Brunswick Gospel Music Hall of Fame awards, he received a Mercy Award for the “Male Artist of the Year.”
Sealy was born in Bathurst, N.B., the oldest of eight children. After high school graduation, he moved to Nova Scotia where he opened a chain of fast food restaurants. After he was converted to Christ in 1978, he left the business world to study for the ministry. He pastured a church in Belleville, N.B. after graduation and later returned to Bible school, this time as a teacher.
In 1998, he founded Furtherance Ministries. The ministry, designed to further the gospel of Jesus Christ, is registered with the Canadian government as a charitable organization and works through a board of directors.
In 2000, Sealy’s life story was broadcast around the world through the radio show, “Unshackled,” a production of Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago.
Married with three children, Sealy and his wife Theresa now make their home in Wakefield, N.B., a small town outside of Hartland.
