SOUTH PORTLAND – Ruth A. Riley, 94, of South Portland, formerly of Cape Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at a South Portland nursing home.
Ruth was born in Perham, the daughter of Edward C. and Minnie Anderson Dahlgren. She was educated in the Woodland Schools and graduated from Caribou High School. She was a member of the Colby Baptist Church in Woodland, a former member of the Woodland Grange and attended the First Baptist Church in South Portland.
Predeceasing her was her husband, Frank Riley; her two sons, Boyd M. Espling and Col. Edward F. Riley; two grandsons, Kevin and Daniel Riley; one great-grandson, Joshua Kelley; and one brother, Edward Dahlgren. Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Arlene Espling of Cape Elizabeth and Barbara Riley of Virginia; sister-in-law, Pauline Dahlgren of Mars Hill; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her dear cousin and friend, Viola Harmon of Brewer; and several nieces and nephews.
A thank you to the nurses and staff of the South Portland Nursing Home for the very special love and care that they gave during her stay there.
