E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T — It’s the season for spelling bees. Area schools are holding competitions in preparation for the Aroostook County Spelling Bee on Monday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Mill Pond School in Hodgdon. SPELLING BEE — Greater Houlton Christian Academy held its annual spelling bee on Jan. 23. SPELLING BEE CHAMPS —Caleb Lincoln, a seventh grader at Greater Houlton Christian Academy, emerged victorious from the school’s spelling bee last week. Lincoln spelled two final words correctly to win the bee: mahi mahi (a type of tropical fish) and spherical. Following close behind was eighth grader Adam Little, who was named runner-up.
