MARS HILL – Acil D. York Jr., 62, died early Friday morning February 8, 2008 at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born in Presque Isle on September 13, 1945, the son of Acil Sr. and Essie (Sturgeon) York. He worked as a woodcutter with his father and brothers. Acil enjoyed doing mechanic work on vehicles.
He is survived by a son Acil York III and his wife Chrystal of Mars Hill; two daughters, Wendy Hubbard and her husband Jeffrey and Stacy Shir, all of Pittsfield, Mass.; his mother Essie York of Westfield; nine brothers, Dana, Floyd, and Bryan of Westfield, Wilmer, Roger and Warren of Fort Fairfield, David and Rodney of Presque Isle and Vaughn of Mapleton; two sisters, Irene Lapointe and her husband Ronnie of Blaine, Betty Donnelly and her husband Barney of E. Plantation; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Leona Smith and Sherry York.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mars Hill with the Rev. Ronnie Lapointe officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until time of service at the church. Spring interment will be in East Blaine Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in support of the family to Acil York III, P.O.
