To the editor:
Not having cable TV on my street until recently, I’ve not been able to watch the meetings held in the Houlton Council Chambers. The only thing I knew about those meetings was what I heard from other people or read in the newspaper. I really thought people were pulling my leg until the Feb. 25 meeting.
Representing the town of Houlton should be one of pride and respect. It certainly should not be a circus free-for-all! Clowns have their time and place and it shouldn’t be in the council chambers.
The council members have better things they could be doing than refereeing a squabble between Mr. Ginish and Mr. Cleary. Everything that is said under one’s breath is heard on television. That type of commentary is completely unnecessary.
Thank you Mr. Goodrich, for your professionalism in apologizing to the viewers. It is a sad day when you have to apologize for something that happened in a televised meeting. What are we saying to new businesses that may be interested in locating here in our community?
