Music department plans events

    HOULTON — The SAD 29 Music Department would like to announce several upcoming events.
    On Thursday, March 27, the music department will host its Night of Jazz starting at 7 p.m. This concert will feature the high school jazz ensemble, the junior high jazz band, the high school jazz band, the junior high show choir and the high school show choir.
    Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children and senior citizens.
    On Friday, March 28, the University of Southern Maine Chamber Singers will be visiting the high school. After rehearsal with the high school chorus, they will put on a short performance. The performance is a good opportunity for high school musicians to sing with the college musicians.
    On Saturday, March 29, the school’s show choirs will be performing at the State Vocal Jazz Festival at Lawrence High School. The junior high show choir will perform at 11:05 a.m.; the high school show choir will perform at 1:30 p.m.
