Weekly Little League report

Caribou Little League game results played through May 17:
Key Bank 16, K of C 1
Kaleb Corriveau and Dustin Bouchard combined for five innings of no-hit baseball, striking out 12 Knights of Columbus batters, in the season opener for both teams. Corriveau also had two singles to pace Key Bank’s offense. Austin Scott and Scott McCrossin, playing leftfield and third base, respectively, combined on a play to throw out a runner at home plate in the top of the first inning and end an early rally by K of C. In the second inning, Connor Plourde of K of C reached first base safely in his first Little League at-bat.
Sleepers 12, North Stars 11
Sleepers’ Brendan Cyr and Justin Ouellette both caught key pop flys to hold back the North Stars in the season opener. Breen Blackstone doubled and tripled with three RBIs, and Devin Cyr doubled and stole two bases for the winning team. Sara Huston tagged home for the winning run.
North Star pitchers Jacob Bither, Jordan Doucette, Kelsey Espling and Garret Alley combined for 12 strikeouts allowing 13 hits. Alley, Bither, Brady Anderson, Shane Landeen and Elliott Landeen all doubled.
