Caribou & Scarborough – Wanda M. Edgecomb, 63, wife of Roger L. Edgecomb, passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 2008, at a Portland healthcare facility, following an extended but courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 28, 1945, in Morrell Siding, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Bernard A. and Mabel (Macro) Morrell. Wanda was educated in the Perth-Andover, New Brunswick School System and attended the Southern Victoria High School. She was married to Roger L. Edgecomb on October 28, 1961.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edgecomb was predeceased by one sister, Glenna Hitchcock. She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Roger L. Edgecomb of Scarborough; three sons, Glen R. Edgecomb of Caribou, Dalton T. Edgecomb and his wife Karen of Rowayton, Connecticut, Tod Edgecomb and his wife Shari of Scarborough; one daughter, Sherri Edgecomb Leahy and her husband Timmothy of Warner Robins, Georgia; two brothers, Earlen Morrell and his wife Dorothy of Morrell Siding, N.B., Alton Morrell of Perth-Andover, N.B.; three sisters, Patricia Nicholson, Dawn Mavor and her husband Frank, all of Perth-Andover, N.B., Betty Sullivan and her husband Frank of Oxbow, N.B.; twelve grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends called Thursday, May 15, 2008, form 7 -9 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service was conducted Friday, May 16, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Interment was held immediately after the service at the Saint Alban Cemetery, Medford, N.B. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held at the home of Dawn and Frank Mavor, 1395 Aroostook Road, Perth-Andover, N.B. immediately following the interment. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Edgecomb to the Maine Medical Center, Development Office, Gibson Pavilion Oncology, 22 Bramhall Street, Portland, 04102. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
