PRESQUE ISLE – Presque Isle High School is pleased to announce that Dusty Graham, Eric Morris, Dylan Plissey, Lucas Mathers, Evan Richards and Warren Zubrick will be attending the Dirigo Boys State at Thomas College in Waterville June 15-20, while Anne Elish and Mimi Smith will be attending Dirigo Girls State at Husson College in Bangor the same week.
The Dirigo Boys and Girls State programs teach about state government and how it works through forming a mock Dirigo State government. The students will participate in mock elections, activities, bill hearings, and legislative sessions. The programs are sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary.
The Presque Isle Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Elks Lodge 1954, S.W. Collins Co., Dead River Co., American Legion, and the Aroostook County Letter Carriers provided the funds for these students to attend.
