Kristine Lloyd donates to Battered Women’s Shelter

    With funds raised in memory of her daughter, Marissa E. Lloyd who was killed in a car accident earlier this year, Kristine Lloyd, right, donated Thursday new toys, games and a new book to the Battered Women’s Shelter in Caribou, represented here by Lacey Boone, a shelter advocate.
A total of $500 was raised for the Sunshine Fund during the citywide yard sale at Sirois Market on Sweden Street through the sale of hot dogs and buns donated by the store. The respective distributors, according to Lloyd, donated chips and soda.  The funds will also pay for copies of Marissa’s favorite book “The Kissing Hand,” for all of the second graders at Hilltop Elementary School in Caribou.
