PRESQUE ISLE – Northern Printers, located at 497 Main St. in Presque Isle, has seen many changes in the 60 years they’ve been in business, from lead type and linotype machines to computers and the Internet. They provide many types of printing, computer forms and checks, one-write systems, deposit tickets, and many other products.
The owner and two employees combine for 95 years of service in the printing industry. Gene Wright, in the printing business since 1963 and the owner since 1993, is the specialist for checks, forms, and one-write systems, but also does printing and the darkroom work. Ray Vogel, with the company since 1970, handles all aspects of the printing process. Angie Adams is the office manager who handles the bookkeeping and computer set-up work, and has been there since 1996.
When asked what gives a business the longevity of Northern Printers, Wright said, “We have fair prices, prompt service, free delivery, and we know our customers by name, all in a friendly atmosphere.”
