MAPLETON – When it comes to customer service, it’s all in the details at Jim’s Automotive/Classic Appraisals, located at 557 Griffin Ridge Road in Mapleton.
From the sale of lower-priced cars and SUV’s, to maintenance and appraisals, owner Jim Burrill, has got it covered, top to bottom. With fuel prices rising, Jim sees more customers cutting costs, by not properly maintaining vehicles, in order to save for the next tank of gas. Jim’s been in the detailing business for more than 36 years and knows the importance of proper car care.
“Polycoating is one way to protect the outside finish,” said Jim, adding, “keeping the salt and calcium off the car’s body and protecting it from harsh winter elements prolongs your ride’s life.”
“We do custom detailing; we go over the top – things others don’t do. We try to get folks ready for winter,” said Jim.
Jim encourages car owners to get vehicles sealed, regardless of age. “Whether it’s a five-year-old or a 2008-2009 model, get the finish sealed before it gets rusty,” said Jim.
Something new at Jim’s Automotive, most new cars and trucks frame and brake lines are unprotected.
“We now offer a coating to seal these components from the damaging calcium now used on our roads and streets,” said Jim, adding, “however, it only adheres to late model vehicles not subjects to a lot of rust already.”
“It helps you get more miles out of your car, by extending the life of the under carriage.”
Protecting the inside is important too.
“We still have Scotch Guard fabric protection. We can get calcium out of carpets’ that helps prevent carpets and floor from rotting,” said Jim, “I focus on details other businesses overlook.”
Jim also handles appraisals for your classic or antique vehicle.
“I love the appraisal business. You’d be amazed how many people don’t realize how valuable an older vehicle can be,” said Jim.
Jim’s Automotive is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and some Saturdays and after 5 p.m. by appointment. For information, call 762-5131.
