The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton will be the scene of a very busy weekend, August 23rd and 24th.
The North Country Cruisers will be hosting their annual classic car and truck show both Saturday and Sunday.
Museum volunteers will be providing tours for visitors both of the days along with a Public Baked Bean Supper on Saturday from 4:30-6 p.m.  Hot dogs, a variety of salads and casseroles along with desserts and beverages will add to the menu. The supper is $8 per person — a great meal of home cooked food.
Come and visit the museum and see the newly constructed barn and the completion of phase one of the Ross One Room School. Volunteers have been busy this summer, replacing windows and preparing to install new siding on the main museum building. Donations are needed to complete this necessary project.
The museum group is also adding to outside displays of farm machinery. Our thanks for the many contributions to our ongoing projects. They are still adding chairs to complete the dining room facility. The chairs are $20 each and several have been donated in memory or in honor of a special person. Contributions are also being accepted for the completion of the Ross School.
Please contact Vice President Jay Clark at 532-7125 if you would like to be a tour guide this fall. The commitment is only three hours a few times a season when it fits a volunteer’s schedule. Person who would like to join our organization, can sign up at the door. Membership fees are: single, $20; family, $30; Sodbuster, $50; Thresher, $100; Farmer of the Year, $250; or a Lifetime Membership for $750 a couple or $500 for a single.
Members are entitled to four newsletters a year and free admittance to the museum. The gymnasium, with kitchen facilities is also available to rent for private functions. Call 538-9583 for rates.
So take a drive to Littleton for a great homemade meal on Saturday. The museum is handicapped accessible. Gift certificates and museum note cards are available to purchase at the supper.
The museum is located on U.S. Highway 1, eight miles north of I-95 next to Porter’s gas station. Wheelchairs are available and there is plenty of parking. The museum’s phone number is 538-9300. Come back to the Museum on Sunday and view beautiful classic cars and trucks, fun for all.
