Presque Isle – Chip Bennett, 44, went home to be with his Lord, December 7, 2008, at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Chip was born Sept. 24, 1964, the son of Allan Arthur and Kathleen Norberg Bennett.
Chip grew up in Presque Isle and loved his home. Chip could make friends wherever he went and enjoyed calling people by their name. He had a special interest in his church where he contributed in his own way by checking candles and making sure the hymn board was correct. He loved music and could tell you the number of each hymn if you gave him the title. He was a proud member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of New Sweden.
Chip attended various educational programs incuding The Adult Multiple Alternative Center in Caribou where he is remembered fondly.
Chip is survived by his parents; a brother, Richard E. Bennett; and an aunt, Ann B. Wight of Presque Isle; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Arthur and Mable Bennett and Eric and Clara Norberg.
Chip’s family wishes to thank many special friends, his home care nurse Tim LeCrone, Visiting Nurses of Aroostook, and Hospice of Aroostook.
A memorial and celebration of Chip’s life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church of New Sweden, with the Rev. Shelly J. Timber and Rev. Timothy P. Stohlberg officiating.
