PRESQUE ISLE – The Household Financial Education Initiative, a program of the University of Maine School of Economics, is offering a series of free financial workshops in Aroostook County. Workshop participants learn to evaluate their finances; create and stick to a budget; and find organizations and programs that provide heating and financial assistance, including low-interest loans for home improvement or weatherization. University of Maine Business Major Gwen DeFelice is the local coordinator. Organizations or individuals interested in learning more should call 768-9797 and leave a message.
