Littleton names new manager

The town of Littleton has hired Courtney Toby to take the place of Jennifer Gogan who left the position after 15 years. Toby has been an assistant to Gogan for nine years, so therefore very familiar with the operation of the town office.
Toby, a graduate of Houlton High School in 1989 focused first on a career as a wife and mother. In 1999 she enrolled at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, part-time and graduated with honors in 2006. She continued her role as assistant, while pursuing her studies and has also been employed as a rural mail carrier associate.
Toby and her husband Danny have three children, Daniel III, 14, Tanika, 12 and Dawson 6. They reside in Littleton.
She finds the job of town manager very interesting and challenging.
Toby said, “Every day is different. I meet a lot of interesting people. Many stop at the office looking for family information for genealogy studies, while others are looking for directions to the Littleton Covered Bridge.”
She went on to say that there is still a lot to learn even though she has worked as an assistant for nine years. The most challenging is learning about the Maine laws and statutes, but she is able to discuss questions with other town managers, which has helped her in the role as manager.
Assisting Toby with the work at the town office is Lori Schools, who had worked with Gogan, while Toby was pursuing her college degree.
