Trout sale is back: orders in by March 18

    The Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District’s Trout Sale is back.
    SASWCD will be holding a sale of brook trout for pond restocking with Mt. Springs Trout Farm.     Prices for brook trout are $2.19 for 5- to 6-inch fish and $2.79 for 6-to 7-inch. Trout will be bagged on-site and there will be a $5 per bag fee (50 5- to 6-inch fish per bag or 33 6- to 7-inch per bag). Orders must be received by SASWCD by Wednesday, March 18.
    Current stocking permits from IF&W must be presented to SASWCD at placement of order. Permit applications may be picked up at the SASWCD office or downloaded online at http://www.state.me.us/ifw/licenses_permits/pdfs/fishstocking.pdf.
    Trout pick-up day will be held Thursday, May 28 at noon at Macs Trading Post, 382 North St in Houlton. For more information or to pick up a permit application, please call or visit the conservation district’s office at 304 North St., Houlton or phone 532-9407, ext 3.
