What better way to indulge yourself in your favorite comfort food than to be part of a chocolate festival ?
For those of us who can’t resist ‘just one little piece’ of that wonderful treat, there is an event scheduled Feb. 14, that shouldn’t be missed.

Nancy Chandler, displays a number of items that will be part of the Caribou Children’s Discovery Museum silent auction during this Saturday’s Chocolate Festival which will be held at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb.14.
The Caribou Children’s Discovery Museum directors, volunteers and community supporters will be sponsoring the second annual Chocolate Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center on Bennett Drive in Caribou.
Nancy Chandler, president of the CCDM directors stated that last year’s festival went very well and this year there will be a wide variety of chocolate based activities going on for all ages. There will be everything from a chocolate fountain, chef demonstrations, karaoke with kids and Fireman Fred, chocolate pudding eating contest to the history of chocolate. A number of chocolate vendors will have their specialties on sale as well as delicious desserts baked by museum volunteers.
A raffle will be part of the excitement when someone will win 48-inch Victorian dollhouse created by Linda Lusardi. Treat yourself on Valentine’s Day and loose yourself in the wonderful world of chocolate.
Purchase a 12 coupon booklet for $10 and use the coupons to buy chocolate cookies, candies and cake samples from volunteers throughout Aroostook County. Once at the festival, in the lobby, guests will be given a box /bag which can be filled with the wonderful treats available. Items purchased from vendors are not included within the initial entrance fee.
The silent auction will be exciting with over 100 items to bid on. Chandler stated, “ the two best items include a $250 gift certificate to any of the 4,000 bed and breakfast sites in the U.S. and of course the beautiful doll house complete with furniture.”
Other exciting items in the silent auction are a number of dinners for two, massages, Valentine Day gift baskets from Bar Harbor, Portland, Isle au haut and Freeport.
Chandler also reminded that, Daniel’s Den, Kindermusick, of Fort Kent will also be represented as well as Toot Sweet from Houlton.
