Karla Michaud, principal at Van Buren District Secondary School has announced that Mike Perreault, has been selected to receive the 2009 Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principal’s Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship. “Throughout his years at VBDSS, Michael has distinguished himself in the classroom as a leader in the school and the community,” noted Michaud,” he truly deserves this recognition.”
Perreault, along with other winners and their respective principals will attend an Honors Luncheon in Augusta on April 4. This luncheon recognizes outstanding students with the presentation of individual plaques and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler.
Perreault is the son of Kim and Gil LaJoie and Rodney Soucy Jr., all of Van Buren.
