Perkins to serve on committee

    PRESQUE ISLE — Professor Kim-Anne Perkins, a social work professor at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, has been tapped to serve on a national search committee by the Council on Social Work Education.  The CSWE is seeking a successor for Dr. Dean Pierce, who will retire from his position as director of the Office of Social Work Accreditation and Educational Excellence on June 30, 2009. Most of the search committee’s work will be conducted via conference calls and electronically. Perkins will work with the committee to seek out and encourage all qualified individuals to consider applying for the position as well as review candidates.
    The committee anticipates making an appointment before the CSWE spring board meeting, scheduled for March 25-28, 2009, in Alexandria, Va.
