PRESQUE ISLE — A sure sign that spring has arrived has local police investigating reports of vandalism around the Star City as the weather warms and more individuals are out and about on foot.
All incidents were reported Friday, April 10, and involved vehicles at three different locations.
The first two incidents involved the spraypainting of vehicles at two separate residences, one on Oak St. and the other on Barton St. Officer Ross McQuade, of the Presque Isle Police Department, is investigating those cases.
A third act of vandalism was reported at a local business, Harry’s Honda, on Main St. A company official contacted the PIPD on Friday to report damage to several of the cars on their lot. At least four vehicles reportedly had scratches on their hoods. Sgt. Mark Barnes, of the PIPD, responded and is investigating.
Police were advised that the company would be providing estimates of the damages.
Police are asking the public to report any suspicious activity by calling 764-4476.
They also recommend keeping vehicles locked when parked and not to leave valuables in them when unattended, to help deter criminal activity.
