In addition to coaching the boys tennis team, Tim Dolley will take over coaching responsibilities for the Lady Wildcats varsity tennis team for the first time, but has worked with the girls team in the past.
The 2008 Presque Isle girls tennis team were Eastern Maine runners-up, ending their regular season with a 12-0 record, good enough for a second-place standing. Absent from the team this season are second singles Allison Dean and third singles Amy Michaud, but Dolley is confident in this year’s upperclassmen.
Seniors Sarah Porter, Brittany Bearden and Jen Steeves will lead the team along with juniors Madelyn Carson and Kailee Ireland.
Sophomores Divya Bisht and Lindsay Michaud and freshmen Chelsey Carroll, Melissa Carson, Elise Jones and Dani Wolland complete the roster.
As with the boys team, Dolley is also expecting his first-year athletes to step up and accept the challenges this season.
With a close run for the EM championship last year, the Lady Wildcats know they are capable of an even better season, and Dolley plans to see to it that their effort and talent pay off.
Both the Presque Isle boys and girls tennis teams take on MDI this Saturday.
