LIMESTONE — In a joint pageant on May 3, Jordyn Hopkins was crowned Junior Miss Limestone 2009 and Taylor Devoe was crowned Little Miss Limestone 2009. The Pageant, themed “It’s Show Time,” was sponsored by the Xi Alpha Theta Sorority and held in the auditorium of the Limestone Community School. Jason Parent emceed the event, and Anna Watt, Pam Palm and Collette Cormier judged the pageant.

Taylor Devoe is Little Miss Limestone 2009.
The pageant opened with a dance routine choreographed by Little Miss Limestone 2008 Emily Michaud and Junior Miss Limestone 2008 Alexis Bell. Parent introduced the visiting queens from Caribou, Caswell, Fort Fairfield, Limestone, and Presque Isle.
Local dancer Kelsey Washington performed a routine to “Break Away” by Kelly Clarkson.
Kennedy Bencivenga was all smiles as she performed her dance routine for the talent portion of the show in a pink sparkly number. Performing to “Born to Entertain,” her sponsor for the pageant was Caldwell’s Auto Body.
Abagail Elliott suited up for a dip in a prop tub complete with a bubble machine as she sweetly sang “Rubber Ducky” for her talent performance. Abagail was sponsored by Hometown Fuels.
Taylor Devoe took the stage with an energetic pom-pom and baton routine to “I Want it All” from “High School Musical.” Sponsoring Taylor was Devoe Farms.
Sabrina Logsdon seemed comfortable in an elaborate living room setup, complete with a photo of her prince charming, as she performed a humorous monologue “Step Sister Speaks Out,” which was a different perspective of the Cinderella story. Her sponsor was Hometown Fuels.

Jordyn Hopkins rocked the song “Respect” with her saxophone during the Junior Miss Limestone talent portion and was sponsored by Talk of The Town.
Elizabeth Bencivenga proved that she is a force to be reckoned with during her (literally) board-breaking Tai Kwan Do demonstration to “Duel of the Fates,” a song popularized by “Star Wars,” during her talent portion. The Artist Nook sponsored her hard-hitting participation in the pageant.
Switching gears, the ladies put on their finest for the party dress and interview portion of the pageant.
When asked what her favorite subject was in school, Kennedy Bencivenga told Parent and the audience that her favorite subject in school was playtime, because she likes to play with her friends and she likes it when her friends play with her.
Abagail Elliott informed the judges during her interview that her favorite singer is Hannah Montana because “she is an awesome singer and she’s Hannah Montana.”
When Parent asked Taylor Devoe “if you had one wish, what would it be?” she answered honestly and openly when she replied, “My one wish would be to never get old.”
The Junior Miss Limestone contestants also took the stage in their party dresses and recited monologues about Limestone.
Before the closing number, Little Miss Limestone 2008 and Junior Miss Limestone 2008 took their final walks as queens on the arms of their fathers, receiving hugs, praise, and flowers.
As the young ladies lined up for the crowning, anticipation was thick in the air as Taylor Devoe received the Little Miss Congeniality award, the Highest Ticket Sales award, and the title of Little Miss Limestone 2009.
Jordyn Hopkins also pulled off the trifecta as she received the Junior Miss Congeniality Award, the Highest Ticket Sales Award, and the title of Junior Miss Limestone 2009.
Joyce Day and Tracie Helstrom directed the pageant, and with the help of Caitlin Good, they also choreographed the show.
Chris Washington was the auditor of the event, and the Curtains were operated by Mallory Patten.
Little Miss Limestone 2008 Emily Michaud and Junior Miss Limestone 2009 Alexis Bell were the usherettes, while hair stylists were provided by Cindy McConnell of Talk of the Town.
The festive popcorn inspired stage decorations were created by Xi Alpha Theta Sorority and parents.
Sound and lights were managed by Carol Castle and Jane Phair respectively.
Flowers were arranged by Circle K of Presque Isle and trophies were created by BLVD Graphix in Limestone.
Sashes for the new queens were provided by the Limestone Country Club LLC, and the crowns were provided by Cote Auto Repair.
Tickets were handed by Mark Fisher and Charleen Elliott.
A special thank you was given to the contestants and their parents, the Limestone Community School administration and custodial staff, Brenda Curry, Joellen Kelley, Paige Cole, Ann Caldwell, Marie Minet, Mark Fisher, Walter Elliott, Nancy Hoel, Danielle Michaud, and BLVD Graphix.
