PRESQUE ISLE – Dana Charette, 47, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, from a long battle of cancer at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1962, in Fort Kent, the son of Leopold and Jeannine (Oakes) Charette.
Dana was a graduate of Presque Isle High School class of 1981. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle as well as a third degree knight of the Knights of Columbus. Dana worked at Columbia Forest Products in the security department and in his spare time he enjoyed playing guitar, carpentry, antique cars and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, Leopold and Jeannine of Presque Isle, he is survived by a son, Eric Charette of Presque Isle; two sisters, Diane Doustou and her husband Ronald of Presque Isle, Leola Bouchard and her husband Clovis of St. Francis, N.B.; two nieces; two nephews; four great-nieces; one great-nephew, and a special friend, Carol Murray.
Friends called 7-9 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2009, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. A reception followed the service at the K/C Hall.
