Bonnie Rairdon busy recording music

    Bonnie Rairdon is a well-known entertainer who has performed many times in the Houlton area. Born in Maxwell, N.B. Canada she began her musical career as a child singing in the community Pentecostal Church. As a preteen, she entertained on the Jeannie Wood CFNB TV Show, “Time for Juniors.”
    During her college days she was featured on numerous variety shows and auditioned and accepted a guest performance on the weekly “Ralph Hall Show” here in Houlton in 1979.
    Rairdon released her first album, “Will it be Worth it All” in 1990 at the Kitty Wells Studios in Nashville. Her second album, “Praying”, was recorded in 1996 at Traveler Records in Texas. Since that time, Rairdon has released a third titled “A Grand Celebration in Maine” at Roc Studios.
    Rairdon is currently working on two new releases with Doctor Dale in Sussex, N.B. In 2009 Rairdon was nominated to the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame. She has won numerous awards from a variety of associations.
     She received the female entertainer, female vocalist, Bluegrass artist and gospel artist of the year from the Pine Tree State Country Music Association.
    Rairdon will be entertaining this summer on the Dick Curless Tribute Show, Maine Ole Opry Show, Tribute to Don Messer Show, shows at the farmers market in Perth, N.B., Old Homeweek in Woodstock, at the St. John Fair, Marysville, N.B.
