The Oakfield seniors met at the Oakfield Snowmobile Club with 37 members and four guests on June 17 for a potluck dinner and to hear our special guests speak. Grace was given by Wanetta Townsend. Bob Locke led the flag salute and the Lord’s Prayer. The secretary’s report was read and accepted, as was the treasurer’s report. The business meeting was also led by Bob Locke.
The guests were Brenda Barker, Mona Lynch, Carol Fitzherbert and Christie Sanders. Brenda Barker spoke on benefit check card and the 2009 Medicare savings program.
Mona Lynch on the shingles vaccine and how Medicare would pay for it. Several played Medicare bingo. Winning were Bob and Delores Locke, Arlene Friel and Charlotte Marley.
Birthdays of the month were Martha Chapadres, Evelyn Burpee and Sandra Homes. Shirley Smith won the 50-50.
