The fourth annual Youth Fishing Derby, sponsored by the Military Street Baptist Church -Christian Sportsmen’s Club was held last Saturday.

The group stocked a pond with 350 trout, and anglers brought in 57 fish. The fish weren’t biting as much as hoped for, but the rain held off until the very end of the derby and then it was a downpour for a few minutes. Then the award ceremony began.
The prize for the first trout caught by a girl and boy went to Rebecca Emery and Ian Goetsch.

The largest trout caught in the girls’ division was reeled in by Emery, a 12-and-a-half inch trout and in the boys’ division, Austin Tyler brought in a 13-and-three quarter inch prize; second largest trout, female, Savannah Soucy, nine and one-quarter inch and male, Justin Tuck, 13 and one-quarter; third largest trout, female, Emery, nine and one-eighth and male, Adrian Norton, 13 inches.
The smallest trout for girls was caught by Osborne, five-and-a-half inches and for boys, Seth Hannigan, six and one-eighth inches.

AHHH – Some people enjoyed the day fishing on the bank of the pond, while others, like the little one on the right was growing weary of waiting for the fish.
