Horizons comes away with tournament title

    Horizons defeated Caro’s Carpentry, 5-4, in the championship game of the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s Mid-Summer Co-Ed Softball Tournamen.

    Members of the Horizons team, which won the co-ed softball tournament in Caribou held over the weekend, were, in front from left, Dustin Haines, Jordan Haines, Tom Albert, Nicole McLaughlin, Kelly Peers and Derek Patten.     The event was held at Teague Park Saturday and Sunday.
    The double-elimination tourney included seven teams and the other game scores were as follows: DFAS Red 15, Optix 1; Horizons 6, FDC 2; Napoli’s 8, Caro’s Carpentry 3; DFAS Red 29, Tim Horton’s 5; Horizons 14, Napoli’s 7; Caro’s Carpentry 13, FDC 3.
 Also, Napoli’s 18, Optix 2; Caro’s Carpentry 14, Tim Horton’s 4; Horizons 14, DFAS Red 3; Caro’s Carpentry 6, Napoli’s 3; Caro’s Carpentry 11, DFAS Red 1.
    Members of the winning Horizons team included Tom Albert, Ashley Brooker, Victor Coroniti, Dustin Haines, Jordan Haines, Ashlynn Kelley, Seth McCrossin, Kelsey McLaughlin, Nicole McLaughlin, Liza Maynard, George Michaels, Derek Patten, Julie Peers, Kelly Peers, Wanda Picard and Emily O’Neal.
    Players on the runners-up Caro’s Carpentry squad were Mike Caro, Tony Garreans, Nick Hale, Jack Lavangie, Kelley Martin, Beau Myrick, Tina Saucier, Jennifer Sayer, Cameron Sullivan,  Kristi White and Brandy Willette.
