PRESQUE ISLE – Presque Isle High School has announced its fall musical selection. The Shipmates’ Playhouse will produce “The Pajama Game,” a fast, raucous, and rollicking romantic comedy about the hassles between garment workers and a pajama factory president.

“The Pajama Game,” a Tony award-winning musical, first opened on Broadway in 1954 and ran for over 1,000 performances. It enjoyed revivals in 1957, 1973, and 2006 when it won a Tony for “Best Revival of a Musical.” In 1957, Doris Day starred in the Warner Brothers film version of the show.
Tamia Glidden returns for her fifth season with the Shipmates as the production’s director. Jay Nelson will serve as the musical director while Kyle Green and Joe Zubrick pitch in with music and set duties, respectively.
Auditions for “The Pajama Game” are set for the week of Aug. 17. Presque Isle High School students may pick up audition materials from the Main Office as early as Aug. 11. “The Pajama Game” will open Friday, Nov. 6, with a seven-show, two-weekend run. Ticket information will be released later this fall.
