Image    PRESQUE ISLE – Edwin C. Grass, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2009, at a Bangor hospital.  He was born February 2, 1932, in Ashland, the son of Benjamin and Florence (Conley) Grass.  Image
    Ed served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He worked for the Maine Experimental Farm in Presque Isle for many years as a farm tech and enjoyed his time working there. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a very good cook, liked country music, watching westerns, and helping out friends. He was also very active in the Local V.F.W. Hayward Frazier Post #2599 and the Ray Goding Post #88 American Legion.
    He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne (Blanchard) Katt Grass of Presque Isle; four children: Susan Charette and her husband Michael of Cambridge, Vicki Baxter and her husband Shane of Sangerville, Jeff Grass and his girlfriend Aletta of Galax, VA, Laurie McPherson and her husband Elvin of Mapleton; a stepdaughter, Denise Racki and her husband James of Danvers, Mass., as well as six grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Jerry Grass and his wife Leah Rae of VA, and a sister, Anna Brigman of Mapleton, as well as several nieces and nephews.     A graveside service with military honors was conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2009, at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society New England Div., 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701, Ray Goding Post #88 American Legion, P.O.
